Shipping Methods
- We will use the most cost effective method to ship orders. In many instances this may include USPS. If USPS does not deliver to your address, please contact us at 704-489-2990 or support@ebuilderdirect.com so we can arrange alternate shipping on your order.
- If a more specific time frame is required for your shipment, please call us at 704-489-2990 and we can arrange the most appropriate shipping method to suit your needs. However, doing so may result in additional shipping charges.
- For customers in Canada, we ship via USPS Priority Mail
- Next Day Shipping Depending on the volume of orders, most orders will ship the following business day of the placed order. Expedited shipping is available upon request.
- For Next Day & 2nd Day Air Shipments Orders placed before 1pm eastern time (M-F)will ship same day and will arrive next business day if shipped via overnight and 2 business days if shipped via 2 day express. - Flat rate shipping of $8.00 will apply to all orders below $50.00
- All orders over $50.00 ship free within the continental U.S.
- Shipping rates for destinations outside of the continental U.S will be calculated based on weight.
Returns
Please inspect your order upon receiving it for any damage or inaccuracy. We will gladly accept returns/exchanges if the items do not meet customers expectations. Items shipped back to us within 30 days of delivery will not be charged a restocking fee. If more than 30 days and less than 60 days, there is 10% restocking fee charged. Returns more than 60 days and less than 90 days of delivery will be charged a restocking fee of 20%. We don’t accept returns after 90 days of purchase. In order to expedite your return please complete the following steps:
- You must obtain a Return Goods Authorization (RGA#) by submitting your E-mail request to support@ebuilderdirect.com, or calling 1-704-489-2990. All returns for defective merchandise or incorrectly shipped items will be returned at our expense. Please download return form
- All products must be returned in re-salable condition in original packaging with all parts and manuals to receive credit. When we receive the merchandise you will be issued a credit or your replacement product(s) will be shipped.
- Shipping fees aren’t refundable unless we shipped the incorrect items. When signing for your package, be sure to note any outside package damage to the driver. If there is package damage, open the package in front of the driver to inspect the contents before signing. Insurance will not cover packages damaged during shipment unless you inspect before signing.
- Customers should also contact us with any questions on how to properly use and/or install their items.
- Buyer is responsible for paying shipping costs for exchanges if the item is not defective.

Reporting Damaged Goods or Lost Shipments
- DAMAGED shipments and/or packages that appear to be damaged should be refused at the time of delivery.
- Please examine all orders upon receiving them for accuracy. All claims for wrong or missing items must be reported within 14 days of delivery. Any claims made outside of this period will not be honored. Fedex will only cover claims for lost or damaged package within 21 days.

- Only North Carolina residents pay 6.75% to 7.50% tax depending where you live, all other States are exempt from tax.

FAQ
ENTRY/ENTRANCE-Typically used on exterior doors, these locks use a key to access from the exterior and a turnbutton or pushbutton on the inside to unlock. Entry handles are often paired with deadbolts for added security.
PRIVACY- Privacy locks are used for interior doors which require locking, such as bedroom and bathroom doors. Rather than using a key to unlock from the exterior, privacy handles use a small access tool to unlock from the outside.
PASSAGE- Passage handles are used on doors which do not require locking such as walk in closets, laundry rooms, and pantries. They still have a latch mechanism to hold the door shut and require turning of the handle to open.
DUMMY- Dummy levers are used on interior doors which have no bore hole. These are typically double closet or pantry doors which have no bore hole or latch. These doors are often held shut with the use of a magnetic catch or a Ball Catch. Dummy levers attach directly to the door using two wood screws instead of attaching through the door to another interior lever. If you need a dummy on both sides of your door, you will need to order two.

Keyed Alike: Every lock in your order will open with the same key. This is ideal for residential homes. If you order multiple lock types, such as entry locks and deadbolts, they can all be keyed alike.
Master Keyed: Each lock has its own unique key, but a single master key can open all of them. This is the preferred setup for landlords and property managers. We can also accommodate locks keyed in sets. For example, an apartment unit might have one entry lock and one deadbolt, both keyed to the same unit key, while a master key opens all units.

Yes! All door knobs, levers, and deadbolts that eBuilderDirect sells come with all necessary mounting screws, latches, and strikeplates. Our locks can be installed in a matter of minutes with basic hand tools!
A door backset is the measurement from the edge of the door to the center of the bore hole (lock hole). This measurement is typically 2-3/8" or 2-3/4". With the exception of our commercial line of door locks, all locks that eBuilderDirect sells have an adjustable backset to accommodate most residential doors.
Yes, eBuilderDirect can key new locks with a pre-existing key to match other locks you may have on your home. As long as your current locks use a Kwikset 5 Pin keyway, we can rekey new locks that you order to match that key. To do so we will need the 5 digit code from your key which you can leave in the comments section at checkout. If your key is not stamped with a code, you can mail a copy of your key and we can rekey the locks before shipping. Note: While we can rekey to match a current key, we cannot always provide additional copies of the key with your new locks.
A drive-in latch is a cylindrical latch mechanism that is pressed into the side bore of your door. Unlike standard latches, there is no faceplate to screw the latch into the door. All of eBuilderDirect's door locks come with standard latches with faceplates, however we do have drive-in latches available upon request.
Yes! We can accommodate this request. We have worked with hundreds of property managers and landlords over the years to simplify their key systems. We charge a small flat rate fee of $3.00/lock to do so. A small fee for less headache!
